Our Nursery is known for its warm, calm, and welcoming environment where Educators develop strong bonds and provide individualised care for your child. We work closely with families to support a smooth and comfortable transition. Our Educator’s focus is on building meaningful connections with your child, allowing them to understand and respond to their unique needs. This nurturing approach helps foster a deep sense of security and trust, empowering infants to explore and engage confidently within their surroundings, including a dedicated outdoor play-space. We value open communication with families, sharing updates through Storypark to keep you informed about your child’s daily experiences and routines.

Learning and Independence in Pre-Kindy

Cottage Grove's Pre-Kindy room is led by a passionate Early Childhood Bachelor Qualified Teacher.  Children engage in diverse indoor and outdoor experiences encouraging children to discover and learn through their own experiences and interests.  Our philosophy aims to cultivate critical thinking, problem solving skills and a love of learning.

Within the day there are distinct rhythms, routines and rituals such as welcome time, story time and nap time, however children are empowered to explore and learn at their own pace fostering a sense of independence and engagement.

Government Approved Kindergarten Program

Our Kindergarten room provides an approved, government funded Kindergarten Program. This program meets all government guidelines to ensure that children are ready for their transition to Prep.

Our Kindergarten program is led by an experienced, Bachelor Qualified, Early Childhood Teacher. Through a play-based program children are exposed to and explore a range of structured and unstructured learning experiences that focus on social and emotional well-being, reading and writing skills and the development of communication skills.

Children are encouraged to be self-sufficient, resilient and develop a positive sense of self. Social and problem solving skills are considered an essential part of our Kindergarten program and children are taught to respect themselves.

We have developed a strong program to prepare children for Prep.  A cornerstone is our strong partnership with the local school which involves many opportunities for school visits as well as learning to sit for group time, eat from a lunch box, starting to use a pencil, take caring of personal items and much much more.

Ultimately, our Educators provide children with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve their best when undergoing the transition to school. We support both children and parents during this transition and provide parents with a transition statement at the end of the year.
