Our program
Our program is underpinned by the following pillars
Parent Partnerships and Communication
Partnering with You: Building a Home Away From Home for your child
At Cottage Grove Early Learning, our mission is to create a nurturing "home away from home" for your child. We believe this is best achieved through a strong partnership with you. We are committed to understanding your family's unique needs and interests, and we actively encourage open communication.
You will receive regular updates and insights into your child's day through our parent app, StoryPark. We also warmly invite you to share your family's weekend adventures and special moments with us. This helps us to create meaningful connections and extend your child's home experiences into our learning environment.
We deeply value your input and encourage honest, gentle, and supportive conversations. Together, we can foster a strong sense of belonging and provide your child with the best possible care and learning journey.
Indoor and Outdoor Play
Designed for Discovery: Play Within Our Heritage Home
At Cottage Grove Early Learning, our intentionally designed indoor and dedicated outdoor play spaces are nestled within the charming embrace of a heritage home. These unique settings are crafted to spark creativity and inspire young minds. We believe in providing exceptional learning experiences that shape a positive early childhood.
Our centre, thoughtfully curated within this beautiful heritage building, encourages children's imaginations to flourish through inspired learning that integrates outdoor play.
Knowing that early childhood education is foundational, every detail at Cottage Grove has been carefully and beautifully considered to create a calm and confident environment for both children and families, all within the welcoming atmosphere of our historic home.
Nutrition
Nourishing Little Ones: Our Delicious Chef-Prepared Meals
We understand the vital role nutrition plays in your child's early growth and development. That's why we are wholeheartedly committed to providing delicious and exceptionally nutritious chef-prepared meals.
We believe that food is fundamental to building healthy bodies and bright minds. Our dedicated chef thoughtfully crafts menus based on a deep understanding of children's dietary needs, ensuring every meal is balanced, packed with essential nutrients, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our chef also can also ensure your religious needs, and allergy requirements are met.
Music Program
The Joy of Music
Our program includes a dedicated music program led by a Specialist Music teacher. Through fun, play-based activities, children explore musical concepts like pitch, dynamics, tempo, rhythm, and beat, while also singing. Our engaging classes also foster growth in language, social-emotional wellbeing, physical development (fine and gross motor skills), bravery, confidence, mathematical understanding, and cognitive abilities. Children sing, dance, and play with a variety of exciting resources, including puppets, felt board stories, bubbles, and lots of percussion instruments!
Our guiding principle at is that music is a universal language and a valuable experience for all children. We are committed to providing an exceptional music education that is inclusive and available to every child in our care, from Nursery to Kindergarten.
Sport
Building skills, confidence and team work
Our dynamic sports program is designed to enhance children's gross motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness. Through a variety of playful activities and games, children develop their balance, agility, and body control. We partner with an experienced sports educator to guide children as they learn new skills, build confidence in their physical abilities, and discover the fun of working together.
Out in the Community
Fostering connections beyond our centre
At Cottage Grove Early Learning, we believe in fostering connections beyond our centre walls. Our children regularly engage with the wider community through enriching excursions, such as our intergenerational program where our children build connection and rapport with the elderly at St Nicholas’ Aged Care Home. We also make regular visits to the local library. These outings provide valuable opportunities for children to explore new environments, develop social skills, and ignite a love for reading and learning in a real-world context. By actively participating in our community, we aim to broaden children's horizons and create meaningful learning experiences.
